Better awareness by the public is needed about the range of benefits of physical activity to them, what counts as activity, how much is sufficient and what physical activity opportunities are available locally. The aim of this learning is to support anyone who has a role in encouraging physical activity, and those working directly in physical activity to encourage and enable people to be more active. This includes those working in health and social care, leisure and the third sectors. This module will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
In the following clip Professor Nanette Mutrie, Chair of Physical Activity for Health Research Centre [PAHRC] at the University of Edinburgh tells us why it is important to encourage and enable physical activity.
