This learning resource looks at supporting staff attendance: specifically managing absence from work, which is referred to as absence management.
It is targeted at anyone with people management responsibilities within organisations operating in Scotland and should take approximately 45 mins to complete.
This learning resource highlights some of the benefits of actively managing attendance including outlining what your supporting staff attendance policy should include, understanding the fit note and how you can support staff with long-term health conditions.
You will find out about support available through Healthy Working Lives and elsewhere, which will include a variety of valuable resources and templates to help you support staff attendance: absence management.
This is an interactive learning resource. Each section is not mandatory, and has been designed for you to interact and "dip in and out" of the sections, or you can read through each sections in order. You will be able to interact with each section through accessing further reading and templates including an action plan, contributing to a reflective padlet, and testing your knowledge.
The padlet allows you and your team to reflect on what you have learned, as well as interacting with others that have left comments on the forum. You can also use the padlet within your teams in your organisation. This will be monitored by PHS. The time taken to complete this learning resource is dependent on how you want to interact with the resource. It is estimated at 45 minutes.
